Rumor: eBay China Split Its Business Units

From a report of a trusted source in China, it sounds like eBay China may soon split its three business units in China, Eachnet, Paypal and Kijiji. Eachnet will still be ran by eBay China and Kijiji will run independently. However, eBay is going to sell a portion of its ownership of Chinese division of Paypal to Tom.com of Hong Kong. At this moment, no announcement of this has been made by these two companies.

Coincidencely, there is a rumor that there will be Tom.com to buyout eBay China, Paypal some time ago. I am putting this rumor at 75% likely, partially because eBay and Tom.com both have a long-standing relationship. Also, I believed eBay is not doing very well in China and need a radical business strategy to reinvent its businesses in China. A cooperation with Tom.com seem to be a right one at this moment.
