I just came across a newest Web page of Baidu. It is the video section that Baidu going to launch to the market. The site name is video.baidu.com. I wonder Baidu launch this site is due to the threat posed by some other big players such as YouTube, Xunlei, Tudou, MySpace China (to be launched) and etc in the market.
I always believe the war on videos was just beginning in China and no one firm is dominating the online video market yet. Though most of the people I met, they all like to watch videos on Xunlei or Tudou, but I think with the brand name, value achieve by Baidu, they still has the power to capture some market share in the video industry. However, I more interested to see how Baidu control the reproduction, distribution, public performance, and the issue of fair use for all the videos posted on the Baidu’s Video site.
