Virb is an interesting startup that I’ve been tracking since year 2006, even before I started this TagEdge blog. It is created by Unborn Media, Inc. and this company has the track record in creating the music startup such as purevolume.com. On the Virb’s home page, you’ll notice that it is a social networking site and now open beta invitation to the public. Some wonder would Unborn Media integrate the music feature of purevolume with this new startup in the future.

In fact, the founders are graduated from the UMASS (University of Massachusetts Amherst) and according to an article of the UMASS’s alumni newsletter, Virb is a social networking site that the founders are originally envisioned. Besides, they committed to create more platforms in order for the public to make connections.

On its front page, Virb said it is a place that lets users put all of the things including photos, videos, blogs – in one place. A sort of a social community, but the most notable feature is the flexibility in customize one’s own profile.
