Yedda Raises $2.5 Million
Yedda is an Israeli startup that grow steadily since its first inception in August 2006. In fact, Yedda is the Hebrew word for knowledge. Yedda used the concept of web 2.0 by encouraging their users to post questions and on the other hand, users could answers to any questions they know on the Yedda platform. In terms of appearance and function, it is quite similarly to Yahoo! Answers, and they carry the motto of “People. Sharing. Knowledge.” Additionally, they have created a Tagline that enabled users to promote their own blogs, if their users want to. According to an article from GLOBES [online], Yedda has raised a further $2.5 million from venture capitalists in a round led by Genesis Partners.
There are several special features that offered by Yedda. Put an example, the question asked by an user can tag with the topics available on the Yedda platform or the user can type a new topic about this particular question. Yedda will then match the topics and invite a pool of their users with the sound knowledge on the topics to attend to this question. Cast vote, i.e. thumbs up for the answers is allowed on Yedda. A common topic of interests would connected the users and as a consequence, knowledge sharing achieved in this manner. Moreover, Yedda provides the option of personalize page to match an user’s interests, and deliver the new contents on the topics of interests to a particular user.
