Meshly Launched: Create Your Own Mesh

meshly

Meshly is a new Twitter-like service in the market. It allowed users to submit links, comment and vote on the links, tagging the topics, type the text messages and post the mesh (they called it) through the instant messenger. Currently their supported clients included AIM, Google Talk, and MSN. The beauty of Meshly is a user can name a new channel or post the links in an existing channels that he/she like. I’m not sure whether the man behind Meshly venture is building a new platform that comprised of the ideas of what make the success of Digg and Twitter. My sense is that Meshly is a the mixture of Digg and Twitter-like services on the Web now. Click on any post, it would brought you to the original article and the article is being posted using an instant messenger.

Meshly is owned by Virtuoffice Inc that based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is founded as a tool for friends to share links, according to Jason Striegel. After I visited the home page of Virtuoffice, I guess that they registered Meshly in year 2006 is to jump start something that could work on SmartPhone, or SMS, I guess. The SmartPhone technologies is what they have expertise in the industry.
