iLetYou is a startup that went live in April. An interesting startup, though not surprising, aimed to create an online rental community for DVDs and games. A bit of googling showed that it was a startup that allows anyone to instantly start an online rental store for DVDs and Games, as well as rent from other stores in the iLetYou community.

I see this startup a bit like eBay, but users are renting their unused DVDs, instead of selling those stuff. iLetYou’s management believed in their online rental business model for the DVDs or games, and the reality is that most people seek excitement over the predictability, and thus unless the all-time favorite movies, those will not be viewed for more than one or two times by most of the people. And this makes room for the DVDs rental marketplace such as iLetYou. In the marketing setting, iLetYou offered the package of “Rent 5 DVDs or games for $5” and new users currently get $2 in bonus credit with their first rental order to try iLetYou. Users are also allowed to rate the store that rent a particular movie. Meanwhile, iLetYou also introduce a referral fee that referred to the store, as stated in their “Affiliate Program” page.
