Mikogo is a new online meeting tool that is a free for download and suitable for users who want to run a Web conference. It was developed by a German technology firm called BeamYourScreen GmbH, and is now being employed by more than 30,000 users worldwide. Users will find this Mikogo packed with the fast performance, albeit that the only limitation for Mikogo is the maximum number of ten (10) participants is imposed on each conference session. FuelMyBlog

fuelmyblog_image
FuelMyBlog is a UK-based blogging community. It was founded based on a very good idea, i.e. to bring all together the bloggers around the world. New bloggers are encouraged to sign-up to this service because they can find some useful services provided by FuelMyBlog, such as forum, as well as get a chance to promote their blogs and hence, elected as “Blog of the Day.” A first look, FuelMyBlog is functioning quite similar to Technorati, only that they’ve taken extra serious actions in fighting and curb the spam blogs. For example, a blogger can add her blog at anytime, but only if her blog is approved by FuelMyBlog, then she will be allowed to add a widget or the friends widget called “fuelroll” onto her blog.

On the FuelMyBlog homepage, you’ll notice that it look like a blog directory, where you can find several different categories range from Art/Design to Books/Writers to Technology, and etc. Each blog appeared to have a small dialog box present to you the brief information of that particular blog when your mouse hover on it, and you can either “Fuel this blog,” i.e. vote up, “Snuff this blog,” i.e. vote down, View this blog, or Add to friends of that blog. To encourage bloggers to participate on FuelMyBlog, they also organize the competition and bloggers can win prizes from their creative content.

More information can be found on a video embedded below, CEO Kevin Dixie talked about FuelMyBlog.

Typically, YouPublish pays content providers 50% of their sales, which is relatively higher as compared to some other publishing platforms elsewhere.

On the other hand, buyers that would like to buy the available products on YouPublish can click the “Find a File” and browse the products they want and add them to “My Library.”

Profilactic

profilactic_image
Profilactic is a social media aggregator that launched in the end of 2006. It is focus primarily in pulling all of your online profiles into one place. In other word, if you’ve Twitter, blog(s), Flickr, YouTube, etc., what you need to do is sign-up to Profilactic and then start to pull all of these activities under the accounts aforesaid into your Profilactic. On the other hand, you also can see everything that going on with your friends in all the sites they used, provided they’ve a Profilactic account. You can imagine it is very cool when you can interact with multiple sites at once. This type of aggregator or better known as lifestream mashup is pervasive now on the Web. In using this type of service, you also can create a badge, i.e. My lifestream and put it onto your blog, or some other social networking sites.

Social media aggregator is not a very special asset that can earn a startup supercompetitive for an unusually long time. FriendFeed also doing it, with the intense competition from Socialthing!, iminta, and Plaxo. However, Profilactic is trying to outstrip its competitors in a “number game.” They made a comparison with FriendFeed in March this year, in a post entitled, “Profilactic vs. FriendFeed,” with the statement that Profilactic is supporting 155 social sites. Now the number has increased to 186.

But, wait a moment, where is the InstantGrails (for Grails) and InstantMerb (for Merb Web framework)?

Searchme Visual Search

searchme_image
Searchme is a visual search engine and currently in the public beta phase. Searchme reminds me a lot of another visual search engine called oSkope, however these two are totally different in terms of user experience. I like Searchme very much. It allowed me to search the stuff that I want and save it on my desktop, within a finger click, i.e. drag and drop the search results (in the format of page by page) to the stack I created. As told by Searchme, all the pages saved in the stacks are stored in your desktop computer, and if you deleted your Flash Player cache, the pages you saved will be gone.

There are other features in Searchme, you can delete the stack you created, or add a public URL to it. Don’t be afraid the pages you saved will be exposed to the public, good pages should be shared to others as this is an act of demonstrate trust and cultivate the knowledge management culture.

To know more, I embedded two videos of Searchme, watch and enjoy.

1) Introduction to Searchme

2) How To Create a Stack
