Ziipa: Web 2.0 Directory

ziipa_image

Ziipa is an innovative visual directory for Web 2.0 sites and applications. It has grown quickly since launched its service in 2007 and now more than 700 Web 2.0 startups or applications have been visually appeared on the site. I heard many times that it’s all over for a startup which focus on building a directory, and people who want to search for a company in a particular industry can go straight to Google and googling it. Perhaps it’s true, but realizing time is precious, we all do not want to waste our time in search engines and rather enjoy the directory.

On the interface of Ziipa, all Web 2.0 sites or applications have a unique page, and each of them have been given an external URL link to the original site. This makes sense if you want to know more about a particular site, you can click the link and visit it. Besides, you can vote on a site if it draw your attention so much, and every site should have an average karma point (the maximum point is 100). To ease users in using Ziipa, it also have columns such as Most Viewed, Most Rated, and Most Discussed. Meanwhile, you also can find a big Tag Cloud in the sidebar, and from there you’ll be able to search all the sites that belongs to a particular tag, read comments posted by users, as well as watch the recently added sites.

One Response to “Readernaut”

hmm, interesting, but still - I guess I don’t see what is ‘better’ than Good reads here. perhaps you mentioned it in the article, but for some reason, I just don’t see anything that jumps out at me as a big ‘win’ for changing from Goodreads over to readernaught.

is it the abbility to buy from Amazon that would make me want to switch? that’s the only thing that I see that might differentiate it.

oh well, I’ll keep looking on the web to see if there is an article that mentions what sets readernaught apart from goodreads.

thanks for the basic info. though.

    Wade -out.
