Hugg Launched In The Market

The other day I came across a new Web 2.0 site called Hugg, a Digg-like for environmental news has launched in the market. It was built on Pligg engine and its business model is based on Google Adsense. As I visited Hugg, the landing page is filled with all the green news, as Hugg’s motto also stated that they’re the source for user submitted green news. It’s not surprise that green or environmental issues have caught the eyes of the people nowadays. However, does the flurry of this kind of sites in the Internet era really implied this: the time has come to recognize that educating people in environmental issues require a radially different approach, an Internet, or Web 2.0 approach? The reality is that we still need the continual efforts from the Government, the establishment of social programs, but most important the increased awareness of us, the people in how to deal with all these environmental issues. The sad reality is by relying on one site, i.e. Hugg at this moment is simply not enough!
